We believe grooming should be calm, mindful, and stress-free—for pets, people, and groomers alike. To keep things running smoothly, here are our policies explained with a touch of humor (because rules don’t have to be boring!). Full length policies can be found here.

Vaccinations

Think of vaccines as your pup’s VIP pass to the pampering party. For everyone’s safety, we require up-to-date vaccination records before your appointment.

How to provide records:

• Email them to katy@mindful-grooming.com ahead of time

• Or show them in person at your appointment (digital or paper welcome)

Medical exemptions: Have a vet’s note? No problem—just share it with us.

Cancellations

Life happens—dogs get tummy aches, humans get busy. Here’s how cancellations work:

• 48+ hours’ notice: No charge (thanks for the heads-up!).

• Less than 48 hours: 50% of the service fee applies.

• Less than 24 hours / no-show: Full service fee applies.

Emergencies? Just let us know—we’ll work with you.

Payments

Payment is due at the time of service—because even groomers need snacks.
We accept: cash, check, and credit/debit cards.

• Late payments (after 12 hours) = 10% fee.

• Bounced checks = heartbreak + bank fees.

Matting & Pelting

Got mats? No shame—it happens! We’ll carefully de-mat for up to 30 minutes. If it’s too severe, we’ll switch to a shorter haircut. Comfort always comes before combat.

For severely pelted coats, the only safe option is a shave-down. Style requests can’t always be honored, but your dog will feel a thousand times better.

Seniors & Puppies

• Seniors: Comfort > perfection. Expect breaks, adjustments, and shorter grooms when needed.

• Puppies: First grooms are about training, trust, and lots of treats. Don’t worry if we don’t get everything perfect—Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is a calm grooming pup!

Skin Conditions, Fleas & Ticks

If your dog has fleas, ticks, or skin issues, please let us know before the appointment. We’ll do our best, but extra cleaning fees may apply. Severe cases may need a vet’s care first.

Aggressive or Anxious Dogs

We specialize in gentle, mindful handling. But if safety becomes an issue, we reserve the right to stop or decline service. No haircut is worth risking your pup’s wellbeing—or our fingers!

Mishaps & Injuries

We’re trained in Pet CPR & First Aid, and we’re always careful. Still, dogs are unpredictable. If an accident happens, we’ll contact you immediately and, if needed, head to the nearest vet.

Photos & Social Media

We love sharing before-and-after glow-ups! By booking with us, you consent to us taking photos for social media—unless you say otherwise. Just let us know if your pup’s a little camera shy.
